Update Procedure
Before starting an update, Dr.Web Updater checks if you have a registered key file in the installation folder. If no key file is found, update of Dr.Web is blocked.
If a key file is found, Dr.Web Updater checks its validity at Doctor Web official website (the file can be blocked, if discredited; that is, its illegal distribution is uncovered). If your key file is blocked due to misuse, Dr.Web Updater displays an appropriate warning, terminates the update, and blocks components.
If the key file is blocked, contact the dealer from which you purchased Dr.Web.
Successful key file verification initiates an updating process. Dr.Web Updater automatically downloads and installs all updated files that correspond to your version of Dr.Web, and if the subscription terms allow, upgrades Dr.Web (when a newer version is released).
After an update of executable files or libraries, a program restart may be required. In such cases, an appropriate warning displays.
