In this section •Purchasing and Registering License •Dr.Web Server Security Suite Activation Purchasing and Registering License After a license is purchased, updates to product components and virus databases can be regularly downloaded from Doctor Web update servers. Moreover, standard technical support provided by Doctor Web and its partners becomes available. You can purchase any Dr.Web product as well as obtain a product serial number either from our partners or our online store. For details on license options, visit the Doctor Web official website at https://license.drweb.com/license_manager. License registration is required to prove that you are a legal user of Dr.Web Server Security Suite and activate its anti-virus functions, including regular updates of virus databases. We recommend that you register the product and activate the license once the installation is completed. Dr.Web Server Security Suite Activation A license can be activated on the Doctor Web official website at https://products.drweb.com/register/v4. To activate or renew the license, you need to enter the serial number. The serial number is supplied with Dr.Web Server Security Suite or via email when purchasing or renewing the license online. You can use the license command of the Dr.Web Ctl command-line utility (drweb-ctl), which allows you to obtain a demo key file or the license key file corresponding to the serial number of the registered license. A demo period for your copy of Dr.Web Server Security Suite can be obtained on the Doctor Web official website at https://download.drweb.com/demoreq/biz/v2/. After you select the product and fill the registration form, you will receive an email with a serial number or key file for demo period activation.
If you have a key file corresponding to a valid license for the product (for example, you have obtained the key file from a vendor by email after registration or Dr.Web Server Security Suite is being migrated to another server), you can activate Dr.Web Server Security Suite by specifying a path to the key file. You can do that as follows: •Manually. For that: 1.Unpack the key file if archived. 2.Next, do one of the following. •Copy the key file to the directory /etc/opt/drweb.com for GNU/Linux or /usr/local/etc/drweb.com for FreeBSD and rename the file to drweb32.key. •In the Dr.Web Server Security Suite configuration file specify the key file path as the KeyPath parameter value. In this case the key file name can be different from drweb32.key. 3.Reload the Dr.Web Server Security Suite configuration using the command:
to apply changes. Alternatively, use the command:
In the latter case, it is not required to additionally reload the Dr.Web Server Security Suite configuration. The key file will not be copied to the directory /etc/opt/drweb.com for GNU/Linux or /usr/local/etc/drweb.com for FreeBSD and will remain at its original location.
If a key file is lost but the license is not expired, you must register again by providing the personal data you specified during the first registration. You can use a different email address. In this case, the license key file will be sent at the new address. A license key file can be obtained using the license management command a limited number of times. If that amount has been exceeded, you can confirm the registration of your serial number at https://products.drweb.com/register/ to receive the key file. The key file is sent to the email that was specified during the first registration. After the key file is delivered to you by email, you need to install it. |
