Interception Page

On this page, you can configure interception of connections between mail clients and POP3, SMTP, IMAP4, or NNTP mail servers.

SpIDer Mail intercepts connections in one of the following modes:

Automatic, when interception is transparent for the mail programs. This mode is optimal for most uses. You do not need to configure mail programs to support this mode.
Manual, when SpIDer Mail serves as an explicitly defined proxy server between mail programs and servers. To use this mode, you need to configure mail programs.

Note

SpIDer Mail cannot operate in both modes simultaneously. If automatic interceptions is impossible for one or more of the mail clients whose traffic you want to monitor, switch into manual mode and configure interceptions for all mail clients including those that are supported in automatic mode.

When operating in the manual mode, SpIDer Mail intercepts those connections only that are explicitly defined in the settings. Other connections are not intercepted.

In automatic mode, SpIDer Mail intercepts connections to any supported mail server regardless of the server IP address.

It is not recommended to use manual mode unless one or more of the monitored mail clients are not supported in the automatic mode.
