Log Page

On this page, you can select the mode of keeping records in the log file.

The SpIDer Mail log is stored in the spiderml.log file that is located in the %USERPROFILE%\DoctorWeb folder (for Windows 7, C:\Users\<username>\DoctorWeb). It is strongly recommended to keep a log file and analyze it regularly.

You can set one of the following log detail level:

Log Mode

Description

Standard

This mode is optimal for most uses.

In this mode, SpIDer Mail logs the following most important actions only:

•Time of updates
•Time of SpIDer Mail starts and stops
•Detected errors and infections

Extended

In this mode, SpIDer Mail logs the most important actions and the following additional data:

•Connection interception settings
•Names of scanned objects
•Names of packers
•Contents of scanned archives

It is recommended to use this mode when testing mail interception settings.

Debugging

In this mode, SpIDer Mail logs all details on its activity. This may result in considerable log growth.

It is recommended to use this mode only when errors occur or by request of Doctor Web Technical Support.
